It seems all the posts so far are having to do with food or cooking so I'm keeping with the trend although I'd already decided what my tip was when I discovered this. My goal for the summer is to teach my kids to cook something new. New to them - not necessarily to me. I have told each of them to look through the cookbooks and watch the Food Network and decide on something they'd like to learn. I also try to encourage something that is good for summer - not a lot of oven use to heat up the house. They are excited to try their new recipes out on the family. And I am excited to let them do the cooking once a week.

Great idea!
Something that will last long past Summer!
A version of this was going to be one of my future Tuesday summer tips. I have 5 kids (all grown now). As they grew up both hubby and I worked. so I taught each of them how to cook a hamburger based meal (tacos, chili, meatloaf, etc). So when that odd day happened when I would be late getting home I could call the Kids and assign one of them dinner. They knew what meal they were to make and we all got a hot homemade meal that night.
