Connor ROCKS!

Last week Connor got his Bear patch in Scouts. I am so proud of him. He earned it in about a month. He had to work really hard and do a BUNCH of stuff for it. But he made the decision to get it quick and stuck with it even when it was tough. Now he can work on belt loops for the rest of the time he's in the bear den.

My favorite part is that the different patches come with a "mother's pin". It's a little pin that looks like the patch that the boys pin on their mother. Upsidedown of course until he does a good deed. I have a neat little ribbon thing that he puts them all on so I can keep them together - and plus I don't get stabbed when he tries to put them on.

Connors den leader - Sister Connelly - ROCKS. She worked really hard with Connor also to help him get his bear. We are truely blessed to have such and enthusiastic leader this year. It helps the boys accomplish so much more that way. She did a really cool "painted bear" presentation for Connor and Kayson (the other boy who earned his bear).
Then to finish off pack meeting the boys built rockets from 2 ltr bottles. One of the other leaders had a great launcher that her husband operated. I've attached a video of Connor's rocket. You can see it on the launcher, taking off and then I lost it it went so high and fast. If you watch closely you can catch a flash of it on it's way back down. Otherwise, you'll have to trust that it was WAY fun and they went VERY high and fast.

Wow Connor!! I'm sooo impressed! Spencer is over half way through is Bear year and we still haven't earned it yet! (we're betting a little closer) What a go getter! And the rocket launcher looks cool...we're doing that at the end of the month...

What a proud Mom you must be Heather!!
