Lost in Space Pictures - day four

Today's pictures are of Hillary - with strange things on her face. What is it about being 2 that makes you cute with food/dirt/tape on your face?

Lost in Space Pictures - day three

These are pictures of the kids sitting on 4-wheelers outside the Fabulous Cabela's store. Sadly for Connor - this is as close to riding one as he's going to get for now.

LOST IN SPACE

So I was cleaning out the photo files on my cell phone and realized how many pictures I have on there that I've forgotten about completely. So this week is dedicated to those. Each day will feature a few of the lost pictures and maybe by the end of the week - I'll have them all taken care of.

The first ones are some we took in Vegas and on the way to Vegas. There is this really cool park somewhere near St. George - it may actually be in St. George - but I don't know really. This is where we stopped to have lunch and let the kids burn some energy and of course I took a couple pictures.

This is Connor riding the cool wooden Turtle. Then I forced the other two onto it. They were not as happy as Connor was, but it's a cute picture anyway. These next ones are some we took in "The world's LARGEST souviner shop". The kids begged and begged until we finally stopped. Turns out it's really "The worlds LARGEST junk collection". Surprise, Suprise.

And for those of you who are wondering - no I did NOT buy any of the hats. I felt pretty sketchy about just trying them on.

Fridays Foto Finish Fiesta

The girly-girl who came back from Girls Camp last week. It's already wearing off and she's back to her tom-boyish self. But that's okay cause we like her either way.

Head over to Candid Carrie to check out more fun Friday fotos.

All Aboard!

Hillary created a train yesterday (by herself no less) to haul her stuffed animals around the house. It was cute. However it didn't function very well so it was frustrating to her so I took a picture to make her happier. She's a pretty big ham (in case you didn't notice) and taking a picture makes everything better. Check out the conductor and her train (ignore the fact that she has no pants on - she did at one point but then went potty and couldn't be bothered to put them back on).

She does good work....

Hillary was so excited the other day when I got home from work. She drug me into her room to show me that she had made her bed "ALL BY HERSELF!" She was pretty proud.
Maybe I could hire her out.

Tuesday Summer Tips

It seems all the posts so far are having to do with food or cooking so I'm keeping with the trend although I'd already decided what my tip was when I discovered this. My goal for the summer is to teach my kids to cook something new. New to them - not necessarily to me. I have told each of them to look through the cookbooks and watch the Food Network and decide on something they'd like to learn. I also try to encourage something that is good for summer - not a lot of oven use to heat up the house. They are excited to try their new recipes out on the family. And I am excited to let them do the cooking once a week.

Check out Bottles, Barbies and Boys for more summer tips.

Yard Sale Jackpot

Let's just start with the fact that I do not like Hot Topic. This is a store in the mall that sells what we'll call "alternative" clothing. Lots of goth stuff, lots of black, any concert t-shirt you could imagine, lots of clothing I wouldn't EVER let a child of mine wear. But we go in everytime we go to the mall. I think maybe Breanna think's she'll wear me down and I'll buy her something if she keeps trying. But besides being ugly and inappropriate, their clothes and shoes are just out of my price range. So when we found the $50 Hot Topic shoes she had begged for at a yard sale Saturday - I told her to try them on. Magically they fit and had never even been worn before. Plus the best part - they ONLY wanted $1 for them. So I got to be a good mom and Breanna got the shoes she's ALWAYS wanted. Of course you ask "What's the price Breanna pays for them?" I call them her hooker shoes. She doesn't care because she loves them and that's a small price to pay in her book.
Pinata Pinafore GIVEAWAY!!!!!!!

If you haven't been over to her sight you should check her out. She makes the most adorable little girl's clothes and then just gives them away. I always enter - perhaps someday I'll win:)

Early Evening Gown GIVEAWAY!!!!!!!

Tribute to Breanna

Breanna is away at girls camp so here are the top 10 things I love and miss about her:

1. She is the best babysitter I can find. Plus she's cheap.

2. We can laugh at just about anything together. Especially the crazy old ladies that are always at the grocery store when we go.

3. She is best friends with Hillary. They are 10 years apart but still manage to be best buddies.

4. She too loves reality TV shows.

5. She loves Monkeys and the color purple and isn't ashamed of either thing.

6. She loves to bake.

7. She watches Chowder and Total Drama Island with me. (If you don't know, don't ask.)

8. She can load the dishwasher, move the laundry, pick up the living room, bath the baby, check the chickens, fix a meal or get Hillary milk when she demands it. I hate doing it ALL, ALL THE TIME. It's nice to share the responsibilites.

9. She is okay with herself, even if her body or looks aren't perfect. She shows me how to love myself - whoever I am.

10. She is my oldest daughter and I Miss Her TONS!

Camping on the 4th

Instead of battling the Hannah Montanna Madness to view the fireworks in Provo this year, we decided to go camping. We just went up Hobble Creek and had the BEST time. The kids were able to play in the creek and we cooked over a fire and did all the usual camping stuff. We were also able to hang up the hammock Ralph brought me from Peru for the first time. I've never had anywhere to hang it before and it was great. We've already planned to go back up there and request the same sight so we can put it up again. We had to set a timer for the kids turns so no one got longer in the hammock than anyone else. Thanks Ralph. Check out the pictures - they're fun.Gathering kindling sticks for the fire.

Tuesday's Summer Tips

My tip for the summer is the ever popular Slip-N-Slide. This is very inexpensive at Wal-Mart. I think it was less than $10. And it provided over an hour of fun for my kids.

Tuesday Summer Tips

Over at Bottles Barbies & Boys she is hosting a Summer Tips and Advice Tuesday. So I'm participating. I'm reviving an activity from our youth. SHRINKY DINKS! I bought the shrinky dink plastic sheets at the local craft store. You just give each kid a sheet of plastic and some colored pencils. Mine weren't that excited when we first started until they saw what happened when I shrunk them. Now there is never enough plastic to go around. We make key chains, jewelry you name it we make it and the kids love it. Enjoy.
