Thank You

Breanna finished her service project last week. We just wanted to share some of the pictures we took and say Thank You to everyone who donated stuff or money. We were able to meet her goal of 50 kits and even had some money left over. I was just going to give a check to the Red Cross - but then when we were buying the last of the supplies there was a young man outside the dollar store collecting the same stuff for his Eagle project. I went back in and spent the rest of the money on stuff he needed to complete his kits and donated it to him. I figured none of you would mind. We ended up making almost all the towels. We got the fabric on a good deal with our coupons at JoAnns.

2 17gallon bins full of toothpaste, toothbrushes and soap. Over 21 yards of terry cloth for the towels.
Serging the edges of the towels.
Assembling the kits.
More assembly.
Dropping them off. All sealed into boxes and ready to go.
When Breanna started this I made her set a goal of 50 kits. She thought that was too high and frankly so did I. These kits are not cheap. We figured if we got all the stuff at a dollar or less - it still costs around $6 per kit. But I figured she should have a goal - and if she didn't reach it that was okay. At least she would have tried. But when stuff/money started pouring in that first week we were so excited. It's nice to know when you send out the word that you're helping others - your friends and family jump right in to assist. Thanks again everyone.
